Health Diagnostic Tests
Food Intolerance Test (£149-£249) This simple pinprick test measures food-specific IgG antibodies to different foods (from 75 to 150). It is the presence of these antibodies that indicates intolerance or delayed onset food allergies.
Many people think that some foods may be causing them problems but identifying the culprit can be difficult, particularly if combinations of foods are the trigger. The results are colour coded and grade the severity of the IgG reaction.
Comprehensive Adrenal Stress Profile (£107) This saliva test measures the adrenal hormones cortisol and DHEA to evaluate adrenal function and circadian fluctuation, and also secretory IgA which represents the first line defence of the gastrointestinal mucosa. This test can be used to identify inappropriate adrenal response and assess its influence on the immune system.
Recommended for individuals suffering from chronic stress, chronic fatigue or feeling tired all the time, migraines, recurrent infections or illnesses, chronic insomnia or anxiety.
Comprehensive Stool Profile (£360) This convenient, non-invasive stool test evaluates digestion and absorption, inflammation, immunology, and metabolic activity, as well as bacterial balance, yeast and fungi (such as Candida), and parasites.
Recommended for anyone with symptoms including bloating, abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhoea, excessive wind, indigestion, rectal itching, fatigue, poor immunity, headaches, mood swings, joint pain, thrush, or food allergies/intolerance.
Optimal Nutritional Evaluation (£335) This comprehensive test evaluates your functional need for vitamins, minerals, and co-factors. Amino acids are measured to assess digestion, absorption, metabolic impairments, and nutritional deficits. Anti-oxidant reserves and the presence of oxidative injury are also analysed and gastrointestinal function is evaluated. Recommended for anyone with a chronic health problem or disease.
Homocysteine Test (£150) Homocysteine is a naturally occurring amino acid that the body, under normal circumstances, converts to methionine (a powerful antioxidant). However, when the body’s chemistry is out of balance, homocysteine levels increase and it becomes toxic.
High homocysteine is linked to more than 100 serious medical conditions including heart attack and coronary heart disease (homocysteine is more predictive than cholesterol in assessing cardiovascular disease risk) as well as arthritis, Alzheimer’s, diabetes, weight loss, thyroid disease, depression, problem pregnancies, miscarriage and birth defects.
This simple pinprick test would be recommended for those with a poor diet (low fruit and veg, high sugar, fat and alcohol), or diabetes sufferers. Homocysteine levels may also increase with age, stress, low oestrogen levels, some medications such as corticosteroids, and strict vegetarian and vegan diets.
Hair Mineral Analysis (£60) This is a useful test to determine mineral imbalances as well as cellular mineral activity. It also determines your metabolic type (the rate your body burns food for use as energy) and indicates the presence of heavy (toxic) metals.
Simply cut a small sample of hair from the back of your head and post to the laboratory for analysis. You will receive a report of mineral levels, the presence of heavy metals and a full interpretation of the results. Please contact me to discuss your requirements and I will be happy to recommend and arrange the most appropriate test for you.
