Love your Liver this Christmas

Your liver is one of your busiest organs with functions including bile manufacture; metabolism of carbohydrates, fats and protein; nutrient processing, storage and distribution; cholesterol synthesis; activation of vitamin D; destruction of worn out red and white blood cells, and many other jobs in addition to being our primary organ of detoxification.
Over-indulging during the festive season puts an extra burden on your liver, particularly if you like a drink or three and then take paracetamol the morning after… so give your liver a helping hand by increasing your intake of cruciferous veg such as broccoli, cauliflower, kale, cabbage and those good old Brussels; and eat plenty of sulphur rich foods like onions, garlic and eggs… Your liver will love you for it!
